Manual Lymph Drainage
Gentle massage intended to encourage the natural drainage of the lymph which carries waste product away from the tissues and back towards the heart. MLD is becoming widely recognized in the United States as a treatment for many pathologies including post-surgical swelling, post-traumatic edema (e.g., sports injuries), migraine headaches, rheumatoid arthritis, and fibromyalgia. MLD is further used to promote general relaxation and for cleansing (detoxification) of the skin and superficial fascia. In lymphedema therapy, MLD is used to reroute the lymph flow around blocked areas into healthy lymph vessels, which drain into the venous circulation.
Lymphedema is a condition that is caused when lymph vessels are unable to adequately drain fluid from the body. The lack of drainage causes pooling in the legs and/or arms. Symptoms can include swelling in part or all of the extremity, feeling of tightness, restricted range of motion, pain, recurring infections and thickening of the affected area.

The Sudatonic™ Infrared System does not make fat “leave” the body. Instead, stored fat is converted into fatty acids and used by muscles for energy. The heating of the body and need to cool down through perspiration must be fueled by energy; this fuel comes from the converted fatty acids (now energy) that was released by the fat cells.
In Chinese medicine, the skin is known as the third kidney because it is believed to be responsible for eliminating up to 30% of body waste. All of the increased blood circulation during infrared therapy causes great amounts of nutrients to be carried to the skin, promoting a healthy tone and texture along with a mile cleansing.
